Drugs and the money men · 14 August 2006

I imagine that the drug barons that peddle drugs such as cocaine and heroin on our streets are fat rich men with fat cars and fat rings on their fat fingers on their hands resting on their fat bellies.

But I think there is another drug industry that we all subscribe to legally that is growing equally fat rich men.

And that drug industry is the medical drugs that we buy on prescription or otherwise every single day.

And what do those drugs do? Do they cure us? Or do they cause more disease and illnesses that we need more drugs for?

I take painkillers, I have ME/CFS and if I take more than 4 a day, they cease to work. When my pain is very bad I want more than 4 a day. If there comes a time when I cannot cope with the pain, then stronger pain killers will be needed which will cause more damage to my liver so other drugs will be needed and so on and so on. (I know that some of my pain is caused by doing too much but the majority of it is caused by eating foods I know I am intolerant to. So I know I can control that situation and the need for painkillers if I avoid the allergens.)

I think it is the design of the medical drug industry not to help man, but to line the pockets of the drug syndicates who are no better than the recreational drug barons. I then think that these powerful men have the ability to control our government and our health programmes.

What can we do about it?

Not succumb to the medical drugs. I only take one dose of painkillers if I really cannot stand the pain and cope on other days. Stretching helps the pain. Chamomile tea calms the pain. Lavender oils and tea tree all help too.

A friend of mine has rheumatoid arthritis. It is not just the arthritis that is the cause of her pain and discomfort and weaknesses but the steroids she is now addicted to causing a weakness in her bones, dry eyes and dry throat. If she had gone the natural route, she would be in less pain today and drug free. The natural route for rheumatoid arthritis is to get tested for food allergies see York Test , avoiding the allergens, avoiding all caffeine products, taking evening primrose oil and fish oils plus other supplements and a thorough thyroid test.

I feel sure that this is why the natural approach is not accepted by the NHS because this would ruin the medical drug industry and make the rich medical drug syndicates poor. After all not so long ago there was a culture of keeping the patient in the dark about their condition to keep them coming back to their doctor so that he got paid time and time again.

I believe there are many people alive today who wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for medical drugs. But I wonder if that is a small proportion to the people who are constantly ill and dead because of these same drugs. Do we really need a drug to cure leukeamia (click this for information for a natural cure) or a life style change to natural foods?

There is a place for painkillers, for antibiotics, for anti-cancer drugs but a short term place not long term. Long term should be a lifestyle change to good food, avoiding allergens and taking some supplements and then maybe the use of some medical drugs for a short period of time.

But I feel that there is a culture of ‘keeping’ the sick, sick, to keep the money coming in for the powerful and huge drug industries.

Always check out any medical concerns with your GP. Get your diagnosis and then decide how you want to treat it. You may need powerful drugs on a short term basis. Then check some lifestyle changes like: giving up smoking, reducing sweet carbohydrates in your diet, introducing more vegetables and fruit, taking in exercise and fresh air, looking at taking certain supplements and reducing allergens in your diet. Take control of your life. You only have one.
