Why do we feel better in the sunshine?
Why do we feel better when we have spent some time in a country that has more sunshine than Britain?
Years ago when I was a child I remember Whicker on Whicker’s World telling us that daylight triggers the pineal gland in our brains to wake us up and that some people who don’t get up when they first wake up experience headaches and feelings of being ill.
I know that if I don’t get up when I first wake up I will feel more groggy than usual with possibly a headache.
What nutrients are required to support the function of the pineal gland?
Melatonin is manufactured by seratonin and secreted by the pineal gland. Seratonin is made from DHA in the brain. DHA is in fish oils.
Melatonin production increases when it is dark and is suppressed when it is light.
If the pineal gland is getting enough light then melatonin secretion is suppressed and we remain awake.
If not enough seratonin is made from DHA then the pineal gland cannot secrete enough melatonin for adequate sleep patterns.
So ME people need fish oils for the DHA and sunlight. And to employ a discipline of getting up when they first wake up regardless of a poor night’s sleep or feeling achy.
Get up, get showered, get dressed and then go to your ‘nest’ on the settee to rest.

Best of the Web!

Thank you for your response Marianne. As a matter of interest I looked further at P.P.’s website. Last time I checked about 3 months ago it cost £600 ish. I see it is
now £1000! Talk about making money from others’ misfortunes. I came across another technique called Gupta Amygdala Retraining. They’re all at it! I can’t help thinking that any of these techniques will indeed work on anyone who is suggestible, but not when the real cause of the problem is a physical illness caused by hormonal imbalance

Hi Jane
You have prompted me to write another article, please see: Whoops here we go again
Thank you for your imput all these training programmes need to be specific with what it is they are using to do the training. It all seems like brainwashing to me. God bless. Marianne
