Sunshine · 2 August 2007
I think you will find sprinkled inbetween many of the lines in many of my articles that I advocate sunshine.
I personally don’t think you get cancer from the sunshine not even when you burn.
I think you may get cancer from the products on your skin and then lying in the sun. So that would make skin cancer caused by products and not the sun.
I think you may get cancer if you are lacking in nutrients such as the antioxidant carotenoids or the vitamins A, C and E.
I think you may get cancer if you smoke because smoking depletes the body of certain nutrients.
I think you may get cancer if don’t eat your vegetables and fruits.
I think you may get cancer and a host of other illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, blood pressure and high (bad) cholesterol if you eat a diet high in simple carbohydrates (white bread, white sugar, white rice, pasta, pies, cakes, biscuits, sweets, pints of beer, lager and large quantities of alcohol, snacks etc)
I think you may get cancer and a host of other illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, blood pressure and high (bad) cholesterol if you eat low fat spreads and margarines.
But I don’t think that sunshine causes cancer.
It is the diet, the lack of nutrients and man’s interference with nature and man-made products that causes cancer … I think.
The body desperately needs sunshine. Or sunlight. It doesn’t have to be sunny to get enough light. 20 to 40 minutes a day outside in the open air will give the body all it needs.
The pineal gland which is in the brain is activated and di-activated by light and darkness.
Sunlight causes Vitamin D to be produced in the skin which aids the absorption of calcium. Calcium is very important for every cell and nerve and muscle fibre.
While being in the light will cause vitamin D to be produced, the brain needs to receive its serving of light through the eyes and the use of sunglasses inhibits this.
So start your day by being woken up because the curtains are open and the daylight is reacting with the pineal gland which then wakes you up.
Go outside or stand by an open window and take in some fresh air and light.
Then get showered and ready for the day.
I think sunshine is good and light is lovely. Use it and enjoy it.
