I wanted to get to know God, my friend, the loving, encouraging God of my heart, that has been with me since before I was born.

Was He Yoga? So I tried yoga.

Was He Buddha? I found out about Buddhists.

Was He ancient Chinese wisdom? I tried their medical practices.

Was He the God of the Bible? Surely not the Bible, it made me feel so unworthy and damned. That was not the loving God in my heart, so He couldn’t be in the bible.

I searched and wondered when people told me about spiritualists and mediums and crystals and stones; that helped them they said.

That didn’t sit well with my knowledge of my friend the God in my heart, it didn’t make sense.

What is heaven, where do we go when we die?

When we die, is that it, caput, no more? If that is so, why are so many people searching for something more than that and have been for thousands of years?

What is the bible? Why was it written? As some big joke?

I chatted to the God of my heart. I am here, he said. Not out there in stones and crystals and statues.

Who are you? I asked. How can I get to know you and find out about you?

He told me I knew him. He told me that the only way to him was through his son and that the bible is the word of God.

I found that God is beside me and in me and has been there all the time and he is the alpha and the omega as he says in his book the bible. I am the way the truth and the life says the lord Jesus Christ and no-one can know God except through me.

God is here with me; my searching, my assuming, my trying to find my way in the world without my parent’s rules, teacher’s pressures, various religions had led me away from the God in my heart.

To know the God of my heart, I need to know His son Jesus Christ. The person and character and personality of Jesus Christ has been told in the bible.

We are born knowing God, and God came down to earth in the form of His Son and this is prophesied in the Old Testament of the Bible and written about as it happened in the New Testament of the Bible specifically to confirm and understand the God in our hearts.
